According to the standards set by China National Institute of Education Examination, there are three types of tests, namely mid-term tests, normal tests and end-of-term tests.
Mid-term Tests: Mid-term tests are administered in the middle of the semester and usually cover the material taught since the beginning of the semester. It should takes about 3-4 hours and the weight of the grade should be between 10% to 25%.
Normal Tests: Normal tests are administered on a regular basis throughout the semester and they should cover the material taught in the preceding classes. It should last 2-3 hours and the grade should weight between 10% and 20%.
End-of-Term Tests: End-of-term tests are administered when the semester ends and it should cover the material covered throughout the semester. It usually takes about 4-6 hours and the grade should be around 25% to 40%.
