ve this opportunity to share my teaching ideas with you. My topic is unit 6 “New year’s resolution”. My presentation consists of the following aspects: analysis of teaching material and students, teaching aims, key points and difficult points, teaching methods, procedure and blackboard design.
Analysis of Teaching Material
Firstly, I would like to talk about teaching material. This lesson is from the section B, unit6 of PEP English book of junior high school, grade 8, this lesson is the second section of this unit, and it is in the very important position in learning this passage.
Analysis of Students
After the analysis of teaching material, let’s move on to the next step: analysis of students. Junior high school students have learned English for several years, they have calculated some basic words and expressions. But they may have some problem in analyzing complex sentence structure and specific forms of expression. After learning this
lesson, students’ reading skill, as well as listening skill and speaking skill will be improved.

And according to New curriculum standard and syllabus, I set the following three teaching aims：knowledge aim, ability aims and emotional aims. As to knowledge aims, students will be able to learn some new words and phrases such as “play the piano”“make a soccer team” and so on. The second one is ability aim, students can use these new phrases to ask other’s new year’s resolution. The last one is emotional aim, students can foster their interest and desire of learning English and have the confidence to communicate with others.
Teaching Method
In order to make the class more interesting and let students better improve their abilities, I mainly use communicative method, task-based teaching method and audio-lingual approach.上海招考网站

And it comes to the most important part of my teaching plan, teaching procedure, which is made up of five steps: warming up, pre-listening, while-listening, post-listening, summary and homework.
In the worming up step, I will sing a song named “happy new year” for my students, and after they enjoy the song, I will let them guess the topic of this lesson. In that way, the class atmosphere could be activated and student’s interest could be inspired.
